Azerbaijan and South Korea expanded bilateral cooperation in 2024, focusing on promising areas such as "green growth" and "green energy," Azerbaijan's Ambassador to South Korea, Ramin Hasanov told Report.

"2024 marks a successful chapter in the history of friendly relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Korea. Our countries, adhering to multifaceted cooperation, maintained active high-level political dialogue and worked to strengthen their economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties, as well as implemented several significant projects," said the diplomat, as quoted by the South Korean publication Diplomacy Journal.

According to Hasanov, hosting the COP29 climate conference in Baku gave Azerbaijan and Korea an impetus to join efforts to strengthen cooperation both at the bilateral level and within multilateral organizations.

"In the context of persistent geopolitical challenges and conflicts in the modern world, strengthening dialogue and cooperation between friendly countries is more necessary than ever. Strengthening friendship and partnership ties between the two peoples requires active support of this process by civil society and media of both countries. It is gratifying that there is high mutual interest in Azerbaijan and Korea regarding each other's culture, language, history, lifestyle, economy, and politics," noted the ambassador.
