First Lady of the Republic of Bulgaria Desislava Radeva, who is visiting Azerbaijan to attend the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), visited the district of Shamakhi on Thursday.
During the trip, the Bulgarian First Lady also visited Juma Mosque – the oldest mosque in Azerbaijan. Marahmad Mustafayev, the Akhund of the mosque, informed the First Lady about the multicultural environment and religious values in Azerbaijan.
Then, Bulgarian First Lady Desislava Radeva familiarized herself with agricultural and tourism enterprises of the district. Tahir Mammadov Head of the District Executive Authority, highlighted the history, cultural life, social and economic development and tourism potential of Shamakhi.
As part of her visit to Shamakhi, the Bulgarian First Lady also planted a tree as a contribution to the "Green World Solidarity year.”
