Greece is facing the climate crisis right now, and it's clear that the energy transition needs to be accelerated with more focus on adaptation, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told journalists, according to Report.

"I'm always cautiously optimistic when I come to these conferences. I'm from Greece, a Mediterranean country. We are facing the climate crisis right now. And we all understand that we need to accelerate the energy climate transition while paying more attention to adaptation. The climate crisis is already here and now," said Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

According to him, this is not just about achieving net-zero emissions by 2050; it's also largely about protecting the citizens of our countries in 2024, 2025, and beyond.

"Achieving the right balance will be crucial for the well-being of all of us," said the Greek prime minister.
