“Milli Majlis makes significant contributions to further enhancing ties between Türkiye and Azerbaijan,” said Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci as he met with Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis.
Highlighting the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, which are successfully developing under the motto "One nation, two states," Speaker Sahiba Gafarova emphasized that the both countries and peoples had stood by each other both in times of joy and hardship. “The friendly and fraternal relations between the heads of both states are an example for all of us,” the speaker underlined.
“There are currently those who envy the existing fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye. Furthermore, some circles are attempting to exert pressure on Azerbaijan and Türkiye in an attempt to influence their independent policies, which are based on national interests. Such attempts will not yield results and our countries will continue to confidently progress along the path of development,” Sahiba Gafarova mentioned.
Recalling the participation of the observation mission of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye with the largest delegation in the Azerbaijan’s parliamentary elections, Sahiba Gafarova described it as an indicator of the highest level of relations between the two parliaments, like in other domains.
The sides emphasized the fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye within the Organization of Turkic States, alongside many other international organizations, mentioning notable activities of parliaments in this regard within the TURKPA.
The meeting also revolved around other issues of mutual interest.
