The UN calls on countries to submit their first biennial transparency reports and to indicate the total volumes of greenhouse gas emissions by all sectors of the economy, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Vladanka Andreeva said at a panel within the High-Level Dialogue: Advancing Climate Transparency through Universal Participation in the Enhanced Transparency Framework (ETF) in Baku, Report informs.
According to her, it is necessary for monitoring progress in combating climate change and implementing the NDC.
Andreeva also stressed that the UN will continue to support Azerbaijan in preparation for COP29 and the launch of the Baku Global Transparency Platform.
The United Nations expresses its gratitude to Azerbaijan for prioritizing transparency in the field of climate and for the creation of the Baku Global Transparency Platform, she said.
