With more than 500 observers, the "For Civil Society" Election Observation Coalition will monitor voting in 75 election constituencies nationwide, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
During the September 1 Milli Majlis elections, the coalition will also observe the elections in the territories freed from occupation. Representatives of NGOs who returned to their native lands to live permanently after 30 years of occupation were involved as observers in Agdam, Jabrayil, Zangilan, Fuzuli, Lachin, Kalbajar regions and in the city of Shusha, according to the most recent report submitted by the "For Civil Society" Election Observation Coalition on snap parliamentary elections.
The report stated: "On the eve of the elections, the socio-political environment in Azerbaijan is entirely stable. The internet and social media have expanded opportunities for all stakeholders, political parties and candidates to express their views and positions freely. No instances of creating barriers to open discussions or critical opinions have been reported."
