In a move to facilitate the upcoming COP29 international event, Azerbaijan has announced that goods imported into the country for the occasion will be exempt from import customs duties. The decision, signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, comes as a boost to the preparations for the high-profile climate conference.

Report informs that, according to the document, the Cabinet of Ministers has amended the decision "On the rates of customs duties on export-import operations in the Republic of Azerbaijan," which was originally approved by the resolution dated April 22, 1998. The exemption will be granted based on a confirming document from the Azerbaijan COP29 Operating Company.

The amendment will remain in effect from March 1 to December 1, 2024.
