Azerbaijani delegation continues visit to Kingdom of Morocco

The Azerbaijani delegation’s visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, at the invitation of Latifa Akharbach, President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA), continues.

The delegation, comprised of Ismat Sattarov, Chairman of the Audiovisual Council, Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), and Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, held a meeting with Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication of Morocco.

During the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation was briefed on the ministry’s activities in media and communication, media legislation and regulation, support for media organizations, as well as the ministry’s priorities and challenges in these areas.

The Moroccan minister emphasized the robust relations between Azerbaijan and Morocco across various sectors and expressed readiness to explore further sustainable joint activities and cooperation opportunities, particularly in the media realm.

Ahmad Ismayilov provided detailed insights into the Media Development Agency’s efforts to support media entities and journalists, aimed at enhancing their economic independence and professionalism. He noted that the agency attaches importance to expanding international cooperation with various countries in this area, adding that memoranda were signed with several countries. Ahmad Ismayilov also extended an invitation to the Moroccan minister to attend the 2nd Global Media Forum scheduled to take place in Shusha this July.

On the same day, the Azerbaijani delegation met with Fouad Arif, Director General of the Maghreb Arab Press Agency (MAP), Morocco’s official news agency.

Fouad Arif expressed MAP’s interest in collaborating with similar institutions from other countries and exploring joint project possibilities. He underscored the agency's commitment to relations with Azerbaijan, announcing the deployment of a permanent correspondent to Baku starting August 1 this year.

Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan State News Agency Vugar Aliyev highlighted AZERTAC’s activities, noting its 104th anniversary and its news broadcasting in 8 languages, along with partnership with 50 news agencies worldwide.

Vugar Aliyev also invited the MAP General Director to attend the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum in July.

Both sides agreed to sign a cooperation agreement.

Politics
