COP29 President-Designate visits Azerbaijani park in Pakistan

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev visited on Saturday the Azerbaijani park in Pakistan.

Minister Mukhtar Babayev attended the tree planting ceremony in the park, also joined by Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination. Other high-ranking officials of the Pakistani government, as well as Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov also participated in the ceremony.

During the meeting with media representatives, Mukhtar Babayev spoke about his meeting with the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan held as part of his visit to the country, adding that the discussions revolved around the COP29, which is set to be hosted in Baku later this year.

COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev stressed the need for joint action to protect the environment, address climate issues and the climate agenda.
