Azerbaijani FM meets with President of Uzbekistan

As part of his working visit to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the ties of strategic partnership established with the brotherly country of Uzbekistan, with which Azerbaijan shares common historical, cultural and religious values, are exemplary.

He also praised the qualitative enrichment of the multifaceted relations between the two countries in political, economic, trade, transport and communications, cultural, humanitarian and other domains.

FM Bayramov stressed the need to expand cooperation, based on mutual support and solidarity, within regional and international organizations, particularly within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, which is one of the priority areas for Azerbaijan.

Jeyhun Bayramov informed that Azerbaijan will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this year, expressing the country's keenness to collaborate in the implementation of joint measures in this regard.

The meeting also saw discussions on other issues on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as the situation in the region in the post-conflict period.
