Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has met with Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade highlighted the ties of brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, as well as the friendship between the two countries’ leaders. He hailed Saudi Arabia's constant support of Azerbaijan and its standing by Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War, saying that it gave strength to the people of Azerbaijan.
Noting that the relations between the state and religion are at a high level in Azerbaijan, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade said that there is no discrimination between religions in the country.
Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade also commended the high level of relations between representatives of different religions in Azerbaijan, which, as he mentioned, is at the level of brotherhood. “The foundation of this tolerance in Azerbaijan was laid by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev,” he emphasized.
The Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office informed the Saudi minister about the UN interreligious pavilion and the summit of religious leaders that will be organized within COP29.
Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah hailed his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, describing this as an indicative of the high-level relations between the two countries.
The minister said that Saudi Arabia had always supported Azerbaijan in liberation of its territories.
Touching upon the facilitation of the visa issuance process for Azerbaijani citizens and pilgrims by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah underscored that it is already possible to obtain visa online or at the airport.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
