Under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan, the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) will achieve success, Secretary-General of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly Mohammad Reza Majidi said during the 14th plenary session of the APA in Baku, Report informs.

“I am confident that under Azerbaijan’s wise and dynamic chairmanship, the APA will prosper and achieve success in the next two years. I would like to state our unwavering commitment to support Azerbaijan's chairmanship,” he said.

The APA secretary-general also thanked the previous chair country, Türkiye, for the successful fulfillment of commitments, which “made a significant contribution to the mission of the organization.”

Today the 14th plenary session of the APA is taking place in Baku.

During the session, meetings of committees on political, economic, budgetary, social and cultural issues will be organized. Following the session, the Baku Declaration and the final report of the APA will be adopted.

In November 2023, at a meeting of the executive council in Antalya, Türkiye, Azerbaijan was elected chair country of the APA for 2024-2025.
