The activities of the APA (the Asian Parliamentary Assembly) cover significant areas such as political, economic, social, cultural, and others, the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, said during her speech at the 14th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Baku on February 22, Report informs.

"Thus, by bringing our parliaments together, it further mobilizes the efforts of our countries for common goals. At the same time, it provides a parliamentary contribution to the achievement of these goals.

"As the parliament of Azerbaijan, we regard the APA as a significant framework. It reflects our joint willingness to deepen our inter-parliamentary dialogue. I believe the development of the institutional capacity of the organization will further strengthen our cooperation," she added.

Gafarova believes that the work of the Assembly can be further consolidated by reinvigorating and increasing the effectiveness of the existing bodies regulated by the APA Charter.
