Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Kenya Sultan Hajiyev has met with Kenyan Director of Public Prosecutions Renson Mulele Ingonga.
During the meeting, the Director of Public Prosecutions hailed the inauguration of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kenya last year and wished the diplomat success in his future endeavors.
Highlighting his familiarity with Azerbaijan`s prosperous development, Renson Mulele Ingonga underlined the potential benefits of cooperation in mutual legal assistance, the exchange of experiences in combating corruption and terrorism, and involving prosecutors in joint training initiatives.
Sultan Hajiyev noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, providing a conducive environment for further strengthening their rapidly developing ties.
He highlighted the history of Azerbaijan's statehood, its achievements during the period of independence, and the restoration of territorial integrity following the stunning victory in 2020. The ambassador provided updates on the large-scale restoration, reconstruction efforts, and demining process in the post-conflict period.
Sultan Hajiyev also informed about the successful snap presidential election in Azerbaijan, adding that the country will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) this year, along with the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in 2026.
