MFA: 'Positive response received from most of international organizations to which we note sent regarding elections'

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has announced that it has received a positive response from most of the international organizations to which it has sent an official note to participate in the extraordinary presidential elections to be held on February 7, Aykhan Hajizada, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, told secki-2024.az website.

"In order to invite international organizations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent relevant notes to the OSCE Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM), the Organization of Turkic States, and the NAM Youth Organization. According to the current procedure, the mentioned organizations, in turn, call on the member states to observe the elections. We have received positive responses from most of the organizations to which we have sent invitations," he noted.

The head of the press service also emphasized that many applications were received from foreign mass media to monitor the February 7 elections, and after the accreditation process is completed, information will be provided about their exact number.
