There are more than 25,000 historical monuments registered in Armenia, and not a single Islamic monument is listed as a heritage of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Culture Saadat Yusifova said during the presentation of the book “Return to Western Azerbaijan: Our Material and Cultural Heritage on Historical Lands,” informs.
According to Yusifova, the most pressing issue is to bring the fact that Azerbaijanis lived in Western Azerbaijan to the attention of the world community.
“Today, the Islamic monuments of Western Azerbaijan - mosques, madrassas, caravanserais - are not mentioned. We must bring information to the international community about our destroyed material and cultural heritage,” she emphasized.
