The Cultural Center of the Azerbaijani Embassy in France hosted an exhibition entitled “Spring freshness in Azerbaijani carpets.”

The event, held as part of the “Second Life” project, was co-organized by the Arts Council Azerbaijan and the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan, with the support of the country’s Embassy in France.

The opening ceremony was attended by Jérôme Beguin, President of the Association of Friends of Azerbaijan, Leyla Abdullayeva, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France, and Sona Guliyeva, the founder of the “Second Life” project.

Addressing the event, speakers emphasized that Novruz represents moral-ethical values of the Azerbaijani people, their openness to innovation and development across all historical periods, as well as the continuity between the country's past, present, and future.

They also noted that National Leader Heydar Aliyev regarded Novruz holiday as one of the fundamental pillars of the country’s national ideology. Speakers also emphasized that President Ilham Aliyev also attaches great importance to this holiday, adding that under his leadership, consistent efforts are being undertaken at the state level to preserve and promote Novruz as a fundamental symbol of the people's unity, integrity, and spiritual maturity, as well as the richness and uniqueness of the country’s national culture.

The project aims to develop international cultural cooperation and foster dialogue between contemporary art and traditional forms of artistic heritage.

Then, the event participants viewed the decorative space prepared for the Novruz holiday, as well as the carpets on display.
