Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan sign MoU on theater cooperation

The Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater and the Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater named after Berdakh (Uzbekistan) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalize and expand their creative partnership.

The agreement aims to broaden theater cooperation and strengthen creative ties rooted in the historical, cultural, and ethnic proximity shared by the Azerbaijani and Uzbek peoples.

Under the terms of the memorandum, the two institutions will collaborate on professional exchange programs for directors, actors, artists, and playwrights. The partnership includes the development of joint productions, the organization of guest performances and tours, and participation in international theater festivals. Additionally, the theaters intend to host masterclasses and creative workshops, while facilitating the reciprocal staging of prominent local and world dramas from both nations.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Agil Bahramli, Director of the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater, and Parakhat Mamudov, Director of the Karakalpak State Academic Musical Theater named after Berdakh.
