An Azerbaijani pavilion, showcasing the country’s rich gastronomic heritage, was set up at the foot of the Eiffel Tower as part of the International Gastronomy Village in Paris.
Co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in France and the Friends Association of Azerbaijan in France, the pavilion captivated visitors from the outset. Ambassador Leyla Abdullayeva, her ambassadorial counterparts from various countries, Azerbaijani diplomats in Paris, and festival participants toured the pavilion, which featured traditional foods, local wines, and performances of national music and dance.
Attendees also had the opportunity to explore the culinary heritage of the scenic Gabala region, a prominent gastronomic tourism destination in Azerbaijan. Guests expressed their admiration while sampling savory dishes reflecting the mountain aromas and rich flavors of the region, including shah pilaf, dolma, garali pilaf, and various pickles, as well as national sweets such as shekerbura, baklava, badambura, jams, and traditional tea. Local wines and other national products drew significant attention from visitors. Participants also learned about the ancient sugar-based confectionery culture of the Azerbaijani people.
One of the largest gastronomic events in Paris, the Village International de la Gastronomie featured the cultures of more than 60 countries and French regions. It offered Parisians, tourists, and international visitors the chance to discover authentic cuisines while experiencing the craft, music, and cultural traditions of each represented nation.
Throughout the event, the Village’s main stage hosted concerts, dance performances, parades, and costume displays, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of all participating countries.
