Exhibition of Azerbaijani and Turkmen carpets opens in Tbilisi

An exhibition of Azerbaijani and Turkmen carpets and handicrafts has opened at the Akhundov Art Gallery of the Mirza Fatali Akhundzade Museum of Azerbaijani Culture in Tbilisi.

The event was organized by the embassies of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in Georgia, with support from the Akhundzade Museum.

The week-long exhibition features Azerbaijani carpets from Karabakh, Guba, Shirvan, and Borchali, along with over 20 Turkmen carpets, textiles, jewelry, and paintings.

During the opening ceremony, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, and Kamal Khalilov, Counselor of the Azerbaijani Embassy, delivered remarks. They highlighted the cultural and historical significance of the exhibition and emphasized the importance of preserving the centuries-old carpet-weaving traditions of both countries.
