Tahir Salahov, a great artist who has been creative for almost a century, was born on November 29, 1928 in Baku. Since his father was one of the victims of the 1937 repression, the artist's childhood was difficult. Perhaps the hardships and sufferings he suffered in his childhood played a direct role in his formation as a talented artist and a real person.
In 1951, T. Salahov graduated from the Art School named after A. Azimzadeh in Baku, and in 1957 from the Moscow Art Institute named after Surikov. The artist's works had a great impact on the humanistic development of world visual arts. The works created by this genius artist, who is the author of a large number of portraits, landscapes and still lifes, and large figure works, are characterized by the laconic, at the same time, deep expressive style of lines and colors.
