Specially trained dogs are mainly used in areas heavily contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance, the cynologist of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), Ensign Magsad Mammadov, told Report.
According to him, now, together with the security guards, specially trained dogs are also used in the area: “The large scale of pollution in these areas creates a basis for the activity of dogs. Dogs are most useful for clearing areas and also for detecting minefields. It means that the work of the sappers will become easier. Thanks to the dogs, in addition to anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines, a large number of other unexploded ordnances have been discovered so far.”
Mammadov emphasized that the areas were mined dispersedly: “The enemy did not follow any rules during the mining of the territories and mined the territory dispersedly. Despite all this, we are carrying out the demining process.”
