The Azerbaijan national gastronomy team performed successfully at the 1st International Chefs Championship - "Alimentaria 2026" held in Barcelona, Spain, earning a bronze medal.

The country was represented by a national team formed by the Azerbaijan Culinary Specialists Association with the support of the State Tourism Agency. In accordance with the competition format, participants prepared two courses: an appetizer and a main dish. The teams' performances were evaluated by an international jury based on established criteria.

Alongside Azerbaijan, teams from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, and Romania participated in the championship. The jury consisted of internationally certified culinary experts representing various countries.

The championship, supported by the World Association of Chefs' Societies (WorldChefs), took place within the framework of the international "Alimentaria" food exhibition. The event is considered a prestigious platform bringing together leading representatives of the global gastronomy industry.
