An Azerbaijani delegation led by Anar Baghirov, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association, visited Bucharest at the invitation of the National Association of the Romanian Bars (UNBR) to participate in the UNBR Annual Conference.
Welcoming the Azerbaijani delegation, UNBR President Traian Briciu emphasized the importance of developing institutional ties between Azerbaijan and Romania.
In his remarks, Anar Baghirov highlighted the significance of the existing relations between the Azerbaijani and Romanian Bar Associations, noting that such meetings play a pivotal role in strengthening professional cooperation between lawyers of the two countries. He expressed confidence in the further expansion of collaboration between the organizations.
The conference featured a presentation titled “Digital Future of Justice,” delivered in the Azerbaijani language.
The two institutions also held an expanded-format meeting, during which Anar Baghirov provided information on recent judicial and legal reforms in Azerbaijan, the large-scale activities carried out by the Association within the framework of these reforms, key innovations, and the results achieved.
The Chairman of the Azerbaijani Bar Association underscored a comprehensive approach to strengthening the legal system, focusing on continuous professional development of lawyers, expanding access to justice for vulnerable groups through free and state-funded legal aid, improving infrastructure, and utilizing specialized legal centers.
Anar Baghirov also briefed participants on Azerbaijan’s large-scale reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories.
The meeting addressed issues of mutual interest, with the parties agreeing to enhance cooperation through future joint activities.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Romania Gudsi Osmanov also attended the expanded meeting.
