A delegation led by Major General Stefan Fix, Deputy Chief of Staff for Support at NATO’s Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), is visiting the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to the Ministry of Defense.
As part of the visit, the NATO delegation toured the Azerbaijan Naval Forces. During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation within the framework of partnership programs, including opportunities to enhance experience exchange.
The parties highlighted Azerbaijan’s active participation and initiatives within NATO’s partnership activities.
Following the meeting, the delegation received a briefing at one of the Naval Forces’ military units, detailing its areas of activity. The guests also observed exemplary tactical and special training sessions conducted by servicemen.
The NATO delegation then visited the Military Police Department, where they were briefed on its establishment, operational activities, and distinguished history. A related video was shown, and the department’s structure was explained.
The final stage of the visit included a meeting at the International Military Cooperation Department. During the session, both sides conducted a comprehensive and constructive exchange of views on the current state of Azerbaijan-NATO military cooperation, ongoing partnership projects, and areas of mutual interest. They also discussed future cooperation prospects.
It was emphasized that such visits reaffirm the strategic importance of Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation and contribute to further strengthening mutual understanding.
