Students of the Modern Educational Complex named after Heydar Aliyev visited the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) on Tuesday.

The students explored AZERTAC’s photo archive, viewing images that depict National Leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev, and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva participating in various events and giving interviews to local and international media. They also viewed photo displays showing the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev’s addresses to the nation during the Second Karabakh War and his visits to the liberated territories, along with a museum exhibition of technical equipment used by AZERTAC over the years.

The visitors showed great interest in the memorial corner dedicated to AZERTAC’s martyred journalist Maharram Ibrahimov, who was killed in a landmine explosion while on duty in the liberated Kalbajar district.

The students were also introduced to the news production process—from information gathering and editing to preparing news for publication and translating it into various languages.

They were given an in-depth presentation of AZERTAC’s Children’s Knowledge Portal (portal.azertag.az), launched in 2013. The portal features animated films, fairy tales, encyclopedic entries, riddles, and other engaging content for children. It also includes a “Children’s Creativity” section, where children's drawings, poems, and other talents are published. Visitors to the portal can access up-to-date news about events of interest to children.
