Cargo transportation via Middle Corridor up by 63% in 11 months of 2024

The volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor) increased by 63% over 11 months of 2024, reaching 4.1 million tons, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport said, Report informs.

According to the ministry, container transportation via TITR for January-November 2024 increased 2.6 times, amounting to 50,500 TEU.

"The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route continues to grow steadily, which is confirmed by an increase in capacity to 6 million tons per year, including 100,000 TEU of container transportation. Special attention is paid to infrastructure modernization aimed at increasing capacity and improving service quality," the ministry said.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, is an international transport route that runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea area, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further stretching to Türkiye and European countries. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is part of this corridor.
