Sumgait yesterday hosted the latest selection round of the "I Am a Master" competition, which has already covered 12 regions across the country.

Since registration began, more than 1,000 skilled workers have signed up, with 320 participants selected to move forward to the selection stage. According to competition statistics, during the course of the event, contestants have constructed over 1,700 square meters of walls, used 43,000 bricks, and invested a total of 2,160 hours in the competition.

As seen in previous rounds, participants in Sumgait approached the challenge with enthusiasm and professionalism, all vying for a spot in the final. The skill level of the contestants was so high that the judges had to make measurements with exceptional precision, as the differences in scores came down to millimeters.

"We are thrilled to see the competition resonate with craftsmen across the country and eagerly await the crowning of the nation's top master," said Sergiu Stoikov, Commercial Director of Holcim Azerbaijan.

Holcim's key partner in the competition is the Training Center of the Agency for the Development of Free Economic Zones. "This competition has laid a solid foundation for future projects aimed at advancing vocational education and training skilled professionals," said Ravaiyat Musaev, Deputy Chairman of the Agency’s Board.

The final selection round will take place in Baku, after which 30 finalists will compete for the title of Master of the Year. The winner will receive the grand prize—a 4x4 Pickup car.
