Turkish Airlines ground 5 Boeing 737 MAX 9 for inspection

Turkish national carrier Turkish Airlines has grounded five Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft for inspection following the Alaska Airlines depressurization incident in the US, senior vice president of the Turkish carrier, Yahya Ustun, wrote on X, Report informs.

 

“Following the incident with the Alaska Airlines airliner, five Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft from the Turkish Airlines fleet were requested for inspection. Pending the completion of the technical investigation, Turkish Airlines decided to remove these five aircraft from service at the first airport where they land,” he wrote.

 

US regulators earlier grounded 171 Boeing 737 MAX 9 jets for safety checks after a cabin panel explosion caused Alaska Airlines’ new plane carrying passengers to make an emergency landing.
