Georgia issues postage stamp marking 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev

A special postage stamp entitled "Heydar Aliyev 100", marking the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, has been issued in Georgia at the initiative of Azerbaijan’s Embassy to the country.

 

Dignitaries present at the presentation ceremony included Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev, as well as Acting Chairman of the Board of Azerpost LLC Isi Mustafayev, head of the Department of Stamps of Azerpost LLC Sitara Huseynova, Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Guram Guramishvili, head of Telecommunications, Information and Modern Technologies Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Eka Kubusidze, head of the International Relations and Operations Department at Georgian Post Nugzar Bregvadze and others.

 

Addressing the event, Ambassador Faig Guliyev highlighted the unparalleled services and significant contribution of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to strengthening and developing Azerbaijan-Georgia relations.

 

He underlined that thanks to the visionary policy and personal initiatives of the world-famous political figure, the eminent Leader Heydar Aliyev, friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries have been elevated to a new level.

 

The diplomat also highlighted the Georgian government`s close involvement in organizing and holding a series of events across the country to mark the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader.

 

The other speakers of the event emphasized that modern Azerbaijan and Georgia are bound together by strong ties of brotherhood which is associated with the name of the National Leader.

 

Mentioning to the numerous events held in a number of countries and postage stamps issued as a part of “Year of Heydar Aliyev”, Acting Chairman of the Board of Azerpost LLC Isi Mustafayev underscored the importance of such events for strengthening and boosting relations between the two nations.

 

Following the meeting, ambassador Fair Guliyev, Georgian Deputy Economy Minister Guram Guramishvili and Acting Chairman of the Board of Azerpost LLC Isi Mustafayev signed the respective document regarding the issue of the "Heydar Aliyev 100" stamp.
