““I would like to express my gratitude to Azerbaijan for the opportunity to sign this memorandum on the sidelines of the International Transport Forum (ITF) Summit. This is an extremely important milestone for both Kyiv and Azerbaijan,” Oleksii Kuleba, Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, told journalists during the annual ITF Summit in Leipzig, Germany.

“I believe that following the latest visit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Azerbaijan, our countries have received a new impetus in their cooperation and partnership,” Kuleba noted.

“We are deeply grateful to Azerbaijan for its principled position in supporting Ukraine during the full-scale invasion; this is very significant for us. Therefore, here at the International Transport Forum, we have signed a memorandum with the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan on the introduction of an electronic permit system for the passage of vehicles between our countries,” he emphasized.

According to Kuleba, this initiative is a crucial step aimed at accelerating procedures and ensuring maximum transparency.

“Together with the Azerbaijani side, we have agreed to direct our efforts toward the digitalization of all processes within our transport and logistics routes. This is not merely an additional service for our citizens, passengers, or carriers, but also a matter of optimizing resources and ensuring the transparency of all operations,” the Ukrainian minister added.
