Azerbaijan, Islamic Organization for Food Security explore cooperation

Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, met with Berik Aryn, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), to discuss agricultural cooperation.

Minister Majnun Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan continues collaborating with international organizations to implement advanced practices in its agricultural sector. Minister Mammadov underscored Azerbaijan’s active involvement in the initiatives arising from global challenges, expressing the country’s interest in establishing fruitful agricultural cooperation with IOFS.

Director General Berik Aryn highlighted the activity and projects implemented by IOFS. He noted that IOFS attaches great importance on cooperation with Azerbaijan in agricultural sector, also expressing willingness in enhancing agricultural cooperation.

The meeting focused on the imminent completion of Azerbaijan's accession process to the IOFS, increasing trade turnover in agricultural products between the IOFS member countries and facilitating trade, implementing international projects in line with Azerbaijan's national interests and agricultural policy priorities, boosting ties among the businessmen of the organization's member countries, transferring modern technologies, and implementing scientific research and educational internship programs in agricultural sector.

The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual interest.
