Azerbaijani and Moldovan energy regulatory bodies sign MoU

On May 20, during the visit of the National Energy Regulatory Agency of Moldova (ANRE), led by General Director Alexei Taran, to Azerbaijan, the Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in energy regulation between the two authorities.

The MoU was signed by Samir Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of AERA, and Alexei Taran, General Director of ANRE.

The agreement aims to establish and enhance direct dialogue on bilateral and regional energy market regulation, ensure effective information exchange during emergencies affecting the regional energy market, and promote cooperation through joint events focused on sharing experience in drafting and implementing regulatory reforms based on best international practices.

During the visit, the parties discussed current challenges and potential solutions related to gas market monitoring, integration and expansion of renewable energy sources in the grid, and measures to strengthen energy resilience.
