In 2025, Kazakhstan plans to produce 96.2 million tons of oil and gas condensate, which is 9.7% more than the previous year. Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev explained how this growth will be achieved, according to Kazinform News Agency.
The main increase is expected through the implementation of the Tengiz Future Growth Project, which is set to launch in the second quarter of 2025. Investments this year will amount to approximately $533 million.
“At Karachaganak, work continues on the commissioning of the 6th raw gas reinjection compressor, which will help maintain production levels at 11-12 million tons per year. Investments in 2025 will amount to approximately $144 million,” Satkaliyev said.
Work is also ongoing within the frameworks of the “Kalamkas-Sea” and “Khazar” projects.
“In 2025, FEED design work is expected to be completed, tenders for EPC (BTC and linear facilities) will be held, and a final investment decision (FID) will be made for the project. Peak oil production is expected to reach up to 4 million tons. Investments this year will exceed $40 million,” noted the Minister of Energy.
The oil refining plan for 2025 is set at 17.6 million tons, with petroleum product output projected at 14.6 million tons.
“In the second quarter of this year, the Caspi Bitum expansion project is expected to be completed, increasing capacity from 500 to 750 thousand tons per year, which will boost the total capacity of bitumen plants from 1.2 to 1.45 million tons per year. Investments this year will exceed 21 billion tenge,” added Satkaliyev.
Earlier, it was reported that, according to the Minister of Industry and Construction, Yersaiyn Nagaspayev, 190 projects worth 1.5 trillion tenge will be commissioned this year in Kazakhstan, driving growth in the processing industry. The implementation of 417 projects, worth over 15.3 trillion tenge, has already begun. These projects will be financed through a combination of private investments, funds from second-tier banks, and development institutions.
