Azerbaijan faces challenges in terms of developing entrepreneurial skills, Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister Samad Bashirli said, Report informs.

During the presentation of the World Development Report 2024 in Baku, he highlighted that Azerbaijan has transitioned to a market economy for nearly 30 years.

"Consequently, difficulties in fostering entrepreneurial skills persist in the country," Bashirli said. "There are notable gaps not only in terms of gender balance and illegal entrepreneurship but also in the overall development of entrepreneurial skills."

He noted that considering all these factors, work should be done to continue institutional development: "At the same time, the balance between public and private sectors should be maintained."
