Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov addressed the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting, emphasizing Azerbaijan's close cooperation with Brazil on the upcoming "Nationally Determined Contributions" (NDCs). He stressed the importance of G20 events in raising ambitions for the G20 Leaders' Summit and implementing the results of COP29.
Shahbazov highlighted the COP29 Presidency's priorities, including coordinating a new collective quantitative target to meet the growing financial needs of developing countries and strengthening climate-related actions through effective carbon markets. He also underlined the significance of initiatives such as "Green Energy Zones and Corridors," "Global Energy Storage and Networks," and the "Hydrogen Declaration" in accelerating the global energy transition.
"Energy transition is a process and obligation that requires both individual and collective efforts. Azerbaijan is fully committed to inclusiveness and is ready to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure the successful energy outcomes of COP29," the minister emphasized.
