Azerbaijan will inevitably face the consequences of climate change, Stefanie Stallmeister, the World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan, said.
According to Report, speaking at the Green Finance conference organized by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Azerbaijan) in Baku, she said the problem of rising temperatures, droughts, floods, and other climate changes is already observed on a global scale and will affect Azerbaijan, where 70% of water resources are formed by transboundary rivers.
She noted that other countries in the region are also facing similar problems and are already planning to create appropriate infrastructure, including reservoirs.
