Fariz Aliyev: Number of block trains sent via Middle Corridor reaches 87

As many as 87 block trains have been sent along the Middle Corridor (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route) since the beginning of 2024, said Fariz Aliyev, the Head of Transport Policy Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, Report informs.

Fariz Aliyev made the remark at the SCO Demonstration Zone - Logistics and Trade Promotion Conference in Azerbaijan.

He mentioned that the block trains needed nine to 12 days to arrive.

The official added that permit forms issued for international road transportation between the two countries, and a pilot project was implemented in this regard. As a part of the mentioned project, transportation was carried out by 16 vehicles last week.

Aliyev highlighted that air transport is now available between Azerbaijan and China. Additionally, there are plans to further enhance cooperation in this area.
