Joint venture of railways of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan set to commence operations

Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd., a collaborative venture formed by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Kazakhstan Temir Joly JSC, and Georgian Railway JSC, is poised to commence its operations, said Mammad Hamidov, head of the Commercial Department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Report informs.

He made the remark in the panel discussion themed “Middle Corridor: perspectives and challenges" held within the framework of the Translogistica Caspian exhibition in Baku.

Hamidov anticipates that the enterprise’s operations will catalyze a significant increase in cargo flow by early 2025:

"The railway professionals of the three countries have combined their efforts for the development of multimodal service in the Middle Corridor. This activity will enable the provision of services on a one-stop basis. The cargo delivery time will also be guaranteed."

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR or Middle Corridor) is a vital international transport corridor that spans across China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and onward to Türkiye and European countries.
