Deputy FM: Azerbaijan-Japan trade grew 49% in 2023

Last year, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Japan increased by 49% compared to 2022 and reached $452 million, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov said at an official reception on the occasion of the Japanese national holiday, Report informs.

 

The deputy minister expressed hope for further growth in trade turnover between the two countries.

 

He noted that the results of negotiations around an agreement on the promotion and protection of investments between Azerbaijan and Japan will make an important contribution to increasing investments.

 

Mammadov also noted the potential for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the non-oil sector and services.

 

“Promoting the export of products manufactured in industrial zones of Azerbaijan to the Japanese market, attracting Japanese companies to investment projects in these industrial zones will also contribute to the expansion of bilateral relations,” he said.
