World Bank to develop roadmap for direct-use of geothermal resources in Azerbaijan

The World Bank has published a call for Expression of Interest for consultancy services for the evaluation of the geothermal potential in Azerbaijan for direct-use applications, Report informs, citing the Bank.

 

Applications will be accepted until February 8, 2024.

The World Bank is looking for a consulting company to review the geothermal potential in Azerbaijan, to assess on this basis the technical and economic viability of direct-use applications, and to provide recommendations on the next steps to develop a roadmap for the development of geothermal resources and direct-use in the future.

 

The scope of the work of the consultants will be to review the available information on geothermal resources in Azerbaijan. The consultants will, to the extent possible with the availability of relevant data, estimate resource temperature, reservoir characteristics (size, shape, productivity, water level), and the technical and economic feasibility of the resources for heating and other direct applications. The findings will be delivered in a final report and in a workshop with public officials in Azerbaijan.
