AREA: Azerbaijan will export 5 gigawatts of green energy by 2030
Renewable energy projects with a capacity of 7 gigawatts will be implemented in Azerbaijan by 2030, and 5 gigawatts of this capacity are planned to be exported, said Javid Abdullayev, the Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources (AREA) under the Ministry of Energy, told an online session on "Opportunities in the renewable energy sector of Azerbaijan" held jointly by the Malaysian Ministry of Energy Transition and Communal Services and the embassy of this country in Azerbaijan, Report informs citing the AREA.
Noting that the renewable energy sector is one of the main priorities in his country, Abdullayev spoke about the potential of green energy, current and future projects. He gave information about the export possibilities and routes of green energy.
Speaking about the favorable investment environment created in Azerbaijan, Abdullayev spoke about cooperation with foreign companies, and in this regard, Malaysian companies were invited to participate in future projects.
Mohamad Razif bin Haji Abdul Mubin, the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, also delivered an opening speech at the meeting.
