Minister reveals expected volume of 2023 Turkish-Russian trade turnover

Trade turnover between Russia and Türkiye may amount to about $56 billion by the end of 2023, the Turkish Minister of Trade, co-chairman of the Turkish-Russian intergovernmental commission Omer Bolat said, Report informs.

 

“This year, trade turnover in the energy sector has decreased slightly, because prices for energy products and commodities have decreased all over the world. Last year, trade turnover between Russia and Türkiye reached a record $68 billion, this year in monetary terms it may reach $11 billion exports from Türkiye and $46 billion exports from Russia, about $56 billion in total,” he said.

 

At the same time, the minister noted that “the use of the Turkish lira and ruble in bilateral trade is increasing.”

 

“Turkish exports to Russia in Turkish lira increased by almost 400%, and Türkiye’s imports from Russia in lira increased by almost 150%, in rubles - by 260%,” Bolat said.
