4th International Silk Road Forum kicks off in Tbilisi

 

 

The 4th International Silk Road Forum has got underway in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

 

The event brings together about 2,000 representatives from about 60 countries, including high-ranking officials and representatives of the foreign private sector.

 

The documentary screened at the beginning of the forum highlighted the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway projects implemented with the joint participation of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Türkiye, as well as the submarine cable that will pass under the Black Sea for the countries of the world.

 

The Forum, held under the patronage of Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili, aims to create a platform for representatives of the Silk Road initiative, international organizations and representatives of the private sector to discuss the prospects for deepening cooperation and international and regional trade relations. The event provides the best opportunity for strengthening trade-economic, political and cultural relations between European and Asian countries.

 

Azerbaijan is represented at the international event by a large delegation led by Prime Minister Ali Asadov. The event is also attended by the heads of government of Montenegro and Armenia.

 

Tbilisi Silk Road Forum has been held every two years since 2015.
