Minister: $61.2 billion invested in state programs for socio-economic development of regions

In the last 20 years, 4 state programs dedicated to the socio-economic development of the regions have been adopted, and the volume of investments in the regions under these programs is 104 billion manats ($61.2 billion), Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov said at the conference "20 Years of Unparalleled Services to Motherland, People and Statehood" taking place in Baku, Report informs.

 

The minister noted that in 2022, the nominal volume of product output in the regions has grown 13.5 times compared to 2003, more than 1.8 million new jobs and more than 52 thousand new enterprises have been created in the regions since 2004: "8 airports have been built or rebuilt in the regions, Lachin airport is under construction. More than 17,000 km of highways, more than 500 bridges and tunnels, 3,300 schools, more than 450 kindergartens, more than 550 medical institutions, 41 Olympic Sports Complexes were built or repaired."
