President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf has met with CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) and the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), part of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) group Hani Salem Sonbol.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the long-term fruitful cooperation between Azerbaijan and IDB, and stressed the importance of projects implemented by IDB in various areas in the country, including the energy sector in terms of the sustainable economic development of Azerbaijan.

Rovshan Najaf highlighted the investment projects implemented by SOCAR, noting that sustainable production of hydrocarbon resources, development of renewable energy sources, as well as the application of digital and innovative technologies were identified as priority areas.

The two discussed the opportunities for cooperation in the fields of infrastructure projects, renewable energy, decarbonization and digitization.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
