Azerbaijani table tennis players aim for 'medal rush' in European University Games 2024

Azerbaijani table tennis players will test their strength at the 5th European University Games scheduled to be held in Debrecen-Miskolc, Hungary on July 17-25.

Azerbaijan has named eight athletes to represent the country at the competition.

Azerbaijan`s hopes will be pinned on Laman Abdulhamidova, Zemfira Mikayilova, Khadija Abilzada, Sabina Mammadova, Nihad Mammadov, Nihad Samadzada, Gadir Ibrahimov and Rafig Rafigzada.

The European University Games are the largest academic sports event in Europe. They are held every two years and involve athletes enrolled in higher education.

This edition will be held under the theme "More than the Games," and it is expected to attract a large number of athletes from leading universities across Europe. They will have the opportunity to represent their respective universities in 17 different sports, as well as participate in other educational and social activities. It will be the seventh edition of the event and the first to be held in Hungary.
