Baku will host an international conference on carbon assessment on September 25-26, Samira Musayeva, Deputy Head of the State Tax Service, said at the conference themed "The Role of Small and Medium Businesses in the Green Economy" held in Baku, Report informs.
The conference will be organized by the State Tax Service under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy.
According to Musayeva, the aim of the event is to harmonize carbon pricing policies with the participation of tax administrations from both developed and developing countries, as well as international organizations. The conference seeks to formulate a harmonized but not equalized carbon tax pricing policy, taking into account the industrial development rates of countries with high and low shares in global emissions.
"In this process, we plan to participate by observing the interests of small and medium businesses, without hindering their development trends, and by covering state support measures for business development with the reinvestment of funds collected in this area from carbon taxes back into business," Musayeva stated.
