NASA has discovered traces of ancient lakes in the Jezero crater on Mars.

This was reported by the press service of the University of California.

According to information, "Perseverance" rover studied the soil and provided a two-dimensional image of the surface area at a depth of 20 meters:

"The discovered rock layers show that the sediments were formed thanks to the river that fed the crater. Scientists suggest that these deposits were formed about 3 billion years ago."
