The Belarusian air carrier Belavia has resumed its flight program to Israel, the airline’s press service told BelTA.
“Tel Aviv is one of the first destinations in Belavia’s route network. The airline started flying to Israel back in 1995. The flights have been resumed today after the program was suspended for a long time in February 2022 for reasons beyond the airline’s control,” the press service said. “The resumption of flights was marked by a truly celebratory atmosphere. The check-in for the flight to Israel was accompanied by the melodies of well-known Jewish songs performed by a musical quartet. Furthermore, all passengers received souvenirs from the airline, and the first passenger to check in was presented with a special gift.”
As of 6 January, the load factor of the first flight exceeded 87%, which indicates the route’s popularity right from the start. Flights will be operated twice a week: on Thursdays and Sundays. The flight duration from Minsk to Tel Aviv will be 6 hours 10 minutes, and 6 hours 25 minutes on the return route.
For these flights, Belavia will use comfortable Boeing 737-8 aircraft equipped with a business class section. Hot meals are included in the service. Fares begin at Br671 for a one-way ticket and Br1327 for a round trip. Tickets can be purchased on the Belavia website, from agents, and at sales offices.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce the resumption of regular flights to Tel Aviv. This is a landmark event for us, as Israel was one of the first international destinations in Belavia’s network. We have always been interested in promoting this route – one of the most popular among passengers for many reasons, including medical and religious tourism. We see high interest in the route from Israel as well. Many citizens living there have family and friendly ties with Belarus. They are certainly happy about the direct and convenient air service with Minsk. The resumption of flights is a response to the requests of thousands of people who have been waiting for an opportunity to visit their relatives and loved ones without long layovers,” Belavia Director General Igor Cherginets noted.
